Amid recession fears and stubborn inflation, workplace stress reached an all-time high in 2022, a\u00a0<a class=\"color-link\" title=\"https:\/\/www.gallup.com\/workplace\/349484\/state-of-the-global-workplace.aspx#:~:text=Stress%20among%20the%20world%27s%20workers%20reached%20an%20all%2Dtime%20high%20%2D%2D%20again.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gallup.com\/workplace\/349484\/state-of-the-global-workplace.aspx#:~:text=Stress%20among%20the%20world%27s%20workers%20reached%20an%20all%2Dtime%20high%20%2D%2D%20again.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" data-ga-track=\"ExternalLink:https:\/\/www.gallup.com\/workplace\/349484\/state-of-the-global-workplace.aspx#:~:text=Stress%20among%20the%20world%27s%20workers%20reached%20an%20all%2Dtime%20high%20%2D%2D%20again.\" aria-label=\"Gallup State of the Global Workplace report\">Gallup State of the Global Workplace report<\/a>\u00a0found. As they navigate their teams through the challenges of the past few years, their mental health has suffered. The impacts go all the way to the top. A\u00a0<a class=\"color-link\" title=\"https:\/\/www2.deloitte.com\/us\/en\/insights\/topics\/leadership\/employee-wellness-in-the-corporate-workplace.html\" href=\"https:\/\/www2.deloitte.com\/us\/en\/insights\/topics\/leadership\/employee-wellness-in-the-corporate-workplace.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" data-ga-track=\"ExternalLink:https:\/\/www2.deloitte.com\/us\/en\/insights\/topics\/leadership\/employee-wellness-in-the-corporate-workplace.html\" aria-label=\"Deloitte\">Deloitte<\/a>\u00a0study found that one third of executives are constantly struggling with fatigue, stress, and feelings of being overwhelmed, lonely, or depressed. Harvard Business Review finds managers can trigger anxiety in their employers through unusual or erratic actions, emotional volatility, excessive pessimism, and ignoring people\u2019s emotions. Managers that withdraw or are more \u201chot-headed\u201d have teams that are\u00a0<a class=\"color-link\" title=\"https:\/\/www.fastcompany.com\/90272147\/how-managers-deal-with-stress-impacts-their-employees\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fastcompany.com\/90272147\/how-managers-deal-with-stress-impacts-their-employees\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" data-ga-track=\"ExternalLink:https:\/\/www.fastcompany.com\/90272147\/how-managers-deal-with-stress-impacts-their-employees\" aria-label=\"62%\">62%<\/a>\u00a0more likely to leave their jobs and\u00a0<a class=\"color-link\" title=\"https:\/\/www.fastcompany.com\/90272147\/how-managers-deal-with-stress-impacts-their-employees\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fastcompany.com\/90272147\/how-managers-deal-with-stress-impacts-their-employees\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" data-ga-track=\"ExternalLink:https:\/\/www.fastcompany.com\/90272147\/how-managers-deal-with-stress-impacts-their-employees\" aria-label=\"56%\">56%<\/a>\u00a0more likely to stop participating.<\/p>\n<p>These statistics show that stress management is actually a key leadership skill.
